This commercial is part of a viral campaign meant to relaunch Rolling Rock after being acquired by Anheuser-Busch in 2006. The "Beer Ape" ad supposedly aired and received viewer complaints, but the "outrage" was just part of the campaign. On a serious note, there was genuine outrage in Western Pennsylvania towards A-B and Rolling Rock during the acquisition, because the Latrobe brewery was closed down as part of the deal.
